An Inspirational Hair Day!

"You are the next generation of the Hair & Beauty business" declared Nathan Plumridge of Energy, near Countess Wear in Exeter, at a recent seminar on Starting up your Own Business. "That's why it is so important to gain life skills as well as developing your technical ability. The market is booming if you are prepared to work hard and grab it with both hands"

The event, held at the Torbay Innovation Centre on the ground floor of the South Devon College, and was hosted by Adrian Sheen with Nathan as a Guest Speaker.

Nathan, 29 years old, owns and manages a very successful salon in Exeter, employing 17 stylists. He offered some practical yet inspirational advice to the 40 Hair, Beauty & Holistics students in the audience. His engaging, entertaining and entrepreneurial manner certainly captured the imagination of many of the students - with over 70% saying they would be interested in setting up their own business.

Adrian, who manages the Centre, also offers 1:1 practical advice for anyone interested in developing their own company in any business sector, together with office facilities within the Centre. Nine businesses are now based in the centre, benefiting from the business support and office administration facilities within the Centre and more widely within South Devon College. It is quickly becoming recognised as the local business hub for companies and business advice.
