As a company we have worked hard to create a luxurious salon environment with the best fixtures and fittings, but more important than the physical fixtures of the salon, is the feeling that we want every customer to leave feeling when they leave Energy. Over the years Nathan and his management team have taken great pride in developing the Energy Team. From salon assistants through to the senior directors, the aim is always to develop a strong ethos for quality styling, but with customer service at the forefront. This passion and pride for team development has lead to outstanding staff retention numbers, team progression and a desire in the hairdressing community to work for a salon like Energy. Our customers get to know their stylists and know that they can come back time and time again to the same great results.

When asked the team all feel that the salon has a great atmosphere and is a lovely place to call their work. Each day is different and brings different customers, styles, colour and cuts and each member of staff is there to support the customers and each other. The salon can be extremely busy and if the team weren’t working together things would fall to pieces, luckily the team have been developed to work like a family, all supporting each other.

  • Professional Development

One of the key factors influencing the high staff retention rate is Nathan’s commitment to staff development. Each and every employee has regular review meetings and is able to choose courses that will help with their development. Each employee is encouraged to develop specialisms in areas of hairdressing they love,  from colour specialist to creative cuts, the diversity of skills at Energy is endless.

Some of the courses staff have been on include Keune Colouring Course in Red revolution, Blonde Ambition and Colour Correction.

  • Team training  

Every week the team have a training session and team meeting, this is a great opportunity for the staff  to all learn and develop new skills. This meeting also includes Nathan talking about the business, figures, what’s going well and what’s not, so each member of the team knows exactly how the salon is performing and what needs to be done.

  • Social Events

As well as enjoying the time they spend together within working hours, the team also enjoy evenings out and socialising outside of work. Earlier this year you may have see the team at The Exeter Living Awards looking glam.

  • Sports and Charity

All of the team at Energy Hair enjoy taking part in sporting activities and charity events, these photos are from just a few of the most recent events: Force Cancer Charity’s – Its A Knock Out, The Great West Run 2017, and Torquay 10k.

  • Finally, Nathan Himself.

When entering the salons Nathan’s cheesy grin is one of the first things you will see, but more important than this you get a feeling that the team really respect him and the management team and enjoy their work. When asked to describe him the words they used were kind, fun, inspiring, energetic, innovative, a fantastic support and always helpful.
